Bye to book 2. Go Jacob!

Bye to book 2. Go Jacob!

Rachel’s piece, “Classroom Heroes,” won the school and district Reflections contests. Way to go!
Making mistakes can be fun when you use an electric eraser to fix them! I guess everyone needs one when they do their theory assignments.
We have spent so much time rehearsing together, but we needed two pianos side by side. My friend let us come to her studio and it was so worth it.

I was impressed with Drew. He came home from the recital and downloaded the app Done! He showed me his days get IT (Instrument Time) so I couldn’t let him go home empty handed.
Aiden and Londyn say and punch (hand ladders) the music alphabet forward and backward at 208. Impressive!
Drew and Alexis (and Kait) know the form of their concerto movements with a little help from post its and a little white board.

Drew, Rachel, and Ruby also received a gift card to Cold Stone. Way to go! Summer is so sweet when you get “instrument time” and music skills.

The University of Utah Piano Area opened up a spot for a community group and I took it! With 15 pianos and 30 performers I needed to recruit some friends to help. We had 9 teachers and 28 performers in the end.
Our group’s piece was “Fly Me to the Moon” and our percussionist added so much to the performance! It was an “Out if this World” event. Other highlights included the ET Theme and Star Wars groups.
We have been invited back for next year and I can hardly wait! Thank you Ben, Elena, Drew and Damon for taking extra time to be part of this exclusive experience.

I have so many photos of books finished, fun hairdos, and donuts and $2 bills earned. Here they are…
