I started collecting lullabies and children’s songs after my first child, Harrison, was born. I gave this collection and some egg shakers and scarves to friends when they had their first child.
My grandma, Eunice Bryner, played the piano and had this yellow book. My dad had a copy of the book and I loved the songs and artwork! When it was republished, I saw it at a local music store and purchased one for myself. I’ve used these songs in my children’s elementary school to teach about Washington and Lincoln and other holidays.
One of my piano students, Taylor, had a great-grandmother who paid for her piano lessons. Rita Olsen gave me a collection of her children’s songs in 2011. She wrote “It’s Autumntime” which is in the Children’s Songbook from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
